Lesson: 208 Lesson Name: The Plagues (Part 4 of 7): Flies, Cattle Die, & Boils Theme: Two ways Reading: Exodus 8:20-32, 9:1-11 Memory Verse: Jeremiah 21:8 Memory Verse Text: I set before you the way of life and the way of death. Activity Review game - Bingo cards and 10 plagues dice to review the 10 different events that occured in Egypt leading up the the Exodus.
Lesson Content Suggestions Point 1: Pharaoh was once again reminded of God's requirement and claims, "Let MY PEOPLE go." Point 2: A clear division was seen between the land of Goshen and the land of Egypt (Ex. 8:22, 23). God made a difference. Discuss the kinds of differences God puts between the saved and unsaved today. Point 3: God did just what He said He would (Ex. 8:24). God can and will do just what He says. When Pharaoh said "I will let you go," in Ex. 8:28, notice that he also said, "only ye shall not go very far". The Devil never wants us very far from the world and it's control. Point 4: The division was seen with the cattle: Egypt felt the judgement, but there was NO judgement for the Lord's people (Ex. 9:7). Notes: Perhaps it should be noted very clearly that while God puts a difference between His own and the world, that does not mean that Christians have no sorrows or pains. God grants His power and presence to help His own with their trials. More Biblical Background Information See also: Old Testament History - 2.06 - The Plagues of Egypt
