Sunday School Lesson 929 Two Roads to Choose

Verse Center: Matthew 7:13a, 14:

Enter ye in at the strait gate: …Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Have the students write this verse to take home. (Lesson 10 verse is the other road).

Review center: Play the game from lesson 8

Visual Aids: Make poster of or write on chalk board, the memory verse. Enlarge the coloring sheet (2-9)at least 200% and use to show students what you are talking about. Color (Color by number , red-1; yellow-2; blue-3; brown-5, black-6, orange-7, purple-8, white-9.)your chart so the students can differentiate the places. Pass out the color sheet for each student to refer to while you are teaching.

Aims: The older students would memorize the verse.

LESSON: There are 2 roads according to John 3:18; “He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.” We are born on the wide path (Prov 16:25) and headed for hell unless we stop and accept Christ as our Savior. Many think leading a clean life will get them to heaven. But God says all our righteousness are as filthy rags. Is. 64:6. Jesus is the door, by me if any man enter in he shall be saved John 10:9. He’s also the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me. We have to prepare for an afterlife, either in heaven or hell. Someday unless the rapture (I Cor 15:51) happens we all will die. Heb 9:27 Which road are you on? Point out on the 2 Roads chart the points you are talking about.

Art supplies: 2 Roads chart (2-9) for each person 8x11, will be needed to refer to in next week’s lesson 10.
