Sunday School Lesson 903 Why we need the Bible

Sunday school lesson by Karen Cox

Verse Center: 1 John 5:13 ; These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. See general instructions.

Review Center:
Use same game as Lessons 1 & 2 (901 and 902)

Visual Aids: With “backing” made in lesson 2, paper clip white pages with the following 7 things of why we need the Bible printed on them. (or use chalk board)

Aims: The older students will be able to state the 7 things that the Bible provides for us. The students will be able to recite at least the first half of I John 5:13, ending with “eternal life” or the whole verse for older students.

Lesson: These are only a few of the statements in Scripture that speak of the direct results of the Word of God in a Christian’s life. Ask students after you’ve gone over the 7 which is most meaningful to them, how it has been true for them, or in which ways they have experienced them. These verses each give a different perspective on the value of the Word of God in the life of the individual Christian. Look up each verse and elaborate on why the word is of value according to what the verse says.
