Themes Free Salvation CUPCAKES FOR EVERYONE! "Hi Mrs. T. Hi Mom!" Laughter trailed happy voices. Two girls ran into the kitchen, threw their books on the kitchen table and headed for the fridge. "Mom, guess what?" Sarah said as she reached for the milk. "We have to bake something for a class assignment. We divided into groups today. Mrs. Rapson put topics in a bag and each team picked one. We have to bake. One person in each team writes a report and we all get the same grade. What can we bake Mom? Isn't there anything to eat around here? Is Dad home yet?" Mrs. Thomas smiled at her daughter sarah. Penny, Sarah's friend also smiled. Sarah liked to talk. "Which question would you like me to answer first?" Sarah's mother laughed. Sarah and penny giggled. "Are there any brownies left?" Sarah continued. "Where's Freeway?" Two days later, Sarah and Penny were in the kitchen. Justin, Craig and mary would be there any minute. The "bake team" chose cream filled, frosted, chocolate cupcakes for their assignment. Craig knocked on the side door. "Are they done yet?" Baking did not interest Craig. He saw Sarah's dog in the back yard. "Call me when the others get here. I'm going out to play with Freeway!" "Okay," answered Penny as she reached for a big bowl. Soon the phone rang. It was Mary. She couldn't come. She had forgotten she had to baby-sit that evening. Sarah came back to the counter and laughed, "Okay, Justin, you better show up soon!" Penny looked at the clock and suggested they start. Sarah went to the window and called Craig. "I'll be there in a minute!" Craig yelled as he threw the ball again for Freeway. Sarah began to melt the chocolate on a the burner. As she reached across the stove to turn on the oven, she lost her balance. "OUCH!" Sarah cried. "I put my hand right on the burner!" Mrs. Thomas came running into the kitchen. She looked at Sarah's hand and went to the freezer for an ice pack. Keep this on your hand. it'll be okay." Sarah sat at the kitchen table holding her ice pack. Craig played outside with Freeway. Mary baby-sat. Justin never came. Penny worked alone. Penny made the cupcakes, did the dishes, wrote the report. The next day, in class, everyone enjoyed the cupcakes. Does this remind you of something? In our Bible story, aaron did all the work and everyone benefited. Here, Penny did all the work and everyone on the team received a good grade. They even ate the cupcakes. The Lord jesus died on the cross and finished the work of salvation alone. He died to put away our sins. He died to give us a home in Heaven. The blessing of eternal life is only through the Lord Jesus christ. The Bible says, "Who, His own self (all by Himself) bore our sins in His own body on the tree" (1 Peter 2:24).
