Themes: God's Unfailing Word DV You remember the story don't you? The boy was put out in the hills of green grass to tend his father's sheep. He was told, that if there was trouble, especially with the wolves, he was just to cry out "Wolf! Wolf!" and help would be sent. But he became bored and decided to cry "Wolf" just to see the excitement. You know the outcome. The boy falsely called "Wolf" so many times that when a real wolf came, no one came to help. In that story the boy's words and shouts for help could not be counted on, and could not be trusted. Even in our day now there are those that make promises and they are broken. Even some that we know and love, make promises to us, only to break them in a short period of time. Did you know that God has never broken a promise? Since the dawn of creation until the moment you are reading this Sunday School paper, the God of Heaven has never broken a promise. He always has been and always will be true to his word. Did you also know that the enemy of your soul, the Devil, has never kept his word. The Bible tells us in John chapter 8 that the Devil is a liar, and the father of lies, and there is no truth in him!! The Devil is telling you through the world, even the religious world, that being good and doing the best you can, will earn for you a place in heaven. God says "NOT SO." "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our good works are as filthy rags, and we all do fade like a leaf; and our sins like the wind have taken us away." In order for you to ever be in God's heaven, you must trust His word! His word tells us "There is none that doeth good, no not one." It says that "They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable." Now if I am to believe and trust His word, I will see that before God I can do nothing and that Christ has done everything. While I was without strength of my own, in the plan of God, Christ died for me the Ungodly. By placing my trust in His unchanging word I can know the promise of sins forgiven and a home with Him in heaven. "In hope of eternal life, which God that cannot lie, promised before the world began." Titus 1:2
