Camera 500 rolls of film 1 Axe 3 Guns Diary Book Matches Sleeping Bag Food Supplies Tent Adam Sinclair checked off his list as he rummaged through his supplies one final time. Two years before he told his friends and family about his plans to spend two months in Alaska. Since then, he saved his money and planned for this special trip. He couldn't wait to be airlifted into the wilderness 225 miles northeast of Fairbanks. What shocked people most was not that he was going to Alaska to take pictures and enjoy nature; people were stunned that he wanted to go alone. In the spring of 1991, Adam arranged for a helicopter to fly him to the area he planned to explore. Upon arriving, he unloaded his 1400 pounds of supplies, and waved as the whirlybird roared off toward Fairbanks. Immediately, he began to set up camp and organize his supplies. As the days rolled by, Adam enjoyed the beauty of the tundra region around him. He took many pictures of animals, birds, and wildlife. Each day he recorded his adventures in his brown diary book. This book tells of his fascination with nature and things he had never seen before. Suddenly, about half way through the second month, the diary tells of his startling discovery. "I just realized today, I never made arrangements to get out of here!" His stomach must have turned into a knot. He immediately started to conserve his food and supplies. His fear began to grow that know one would remember he was up there in Alaska. Maybe he would have to try to live off the land. Maybe he could kill an animal and have food to eat. How would he survive the winter in the wilderness of Alaska? Maybe.... He waited and waited. In November, with his last bit of strength, he wrote in his diary one last time. Then he died. He desperately wanted to get to safety. He called himself "stupid" for not planning for the future. The Bible says we can and must plan for the future now. If we want to be sure of being in heaven, we must be saved through the Lord Jesus NOW! He has suffered and died on the cross and He said, "No man cometh to the Father, but by me." (John 14:6) The Bible urgently pleads with you to be saved today because "Behold NOW is the accepted time, behold NOW is the day of salvation." (II Cor. 6:2)
