No one likes to be left out. Wouldn't you be upset if your teacher gave everyone in your class a candy bar but you? What if your Mom and Dad gave everyone in your family a birthday present but you?

Imagine you live in 1881. You want to ride up front on a train with nice seats and big windows. You want to look at the mountains and trees as the train rolls through the country side. You can't! You will have to ride in an old, beat-up car at the back of the train. There won't be any windows. There may not even be seats. you'll just sit on the floor and bounce around for hours. Why? Because your name is Carl Jackson and you are black. Black people can't ride with white people in 1881. Black people are left out!

All through the United States, cities and states passed Jim Crowe Laws. These laws kept blacks out of many things. They couldn't use the white people's telephone booths, drinking fountains, and bathrooms. They had to ride in old rickety train cars at the back and in the back seats of busses. Blacks hated being left out. Thankfully, in 1964, the government changed the law. Now, no one should be left out!

In 1993, Shannon Faulkner wanted to go to the Citadel. She was smart, nice, and good at sports. However, she was a girl. In April 1995, she went to court and a judge said she could go to the Citadel. From now on, girls won't be left out of that school.

Imagine you are sick - really sick. You need medicine. In the city where you live, there are doctors with the medicine you need. However, you can't have any. It is 1942 and you live in Hamburg, Germany. Your name is Simon Bloomburg. You are Jewish. Medicine is for Germans. Jews are left out!

Thankfully, in 1945, the United States, Great Britain, and other countries won World War II. They stopped the cruel treatment of the Jewish people. Then, medicine was provided for everyone. No one was left out!

Today, it is not 1881, 1993, or 1942! Your name is not Carl Jackson, Shannon Faulkner, or Simon Bloomburg. Your name is _____________ . God wants you to be saved.! It does not matter what your skin color is, whether you are a boy or a girl or whether you are Jewish, German, Canadian, American, Indian, or Mexican! God wants YOU to be saved. YOU can be saved because, Jesus said, "Him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out." (John 6:37).
