Themes: "Judgement's Certainty, Limited Time JD Why is the Lord Jesus going to come and take every Christian away to Heaven? A large semi-truck with a long trailer lumbered down our road. The breaks hissed and the engine rumbled to a halt. As I stepped out of our house to meet the driver, I sensed I was being watched. Sure enough! The curtain in the big picture window in our neighbor's house ruffled a bit and then moved back an inch. Someone was peeking. Our neighbor across the street never talked to us. We rarely saw her. We mostly saw her eye peering from behind the curtain. This morning, she saw me saunter out to meet the truck driver. I signed the bill for the delivery. The driver then opened the big rear doors. He climbed up in and brought a crate of boxes to the edge of the trailer. The driver would not help me unload them. So, I slowly lifted the boxes down and set them on the edge of our driveway. The boxes were heavy. I could only lift one at a time. The eyeball of our nosy neighbor continued to stare. When I finally lifted the 26th box off the rear of the truck, the driver closed the door, mumbled good-bye and roared off. The eyeball was still watching. Suddenly, she saw me look up above her house to the West. Then, I lifted a box and sprinted up the driveway to the garage. I then raced back and grabbed another. After the second box, I was puffing and starting to sweat. I looked for a faster way to move the boxes. I grabbed my boys' little red wagon. It bumped behind me out to the stack of boxes. I piled up six boxes. The wagon creaked and groaned as I dragged it up to the garage. I could see I could move them quicker by myself.. Abandoning the wagon, I raced back and forth. The eyeball stared. Red in the face, gasping for air, I stumbled into the garage with the last box. As I flopped on the floor, I think I saw the eyeball blink with laughter. I was sure she was thinking, "What in the world has happened to this man? He is hauling boxes like a madman." Our nosy neighbor could not see what I could. Towering high in the sky behind her house were massive, black clouds. A huge storm was coming and I did not want my boxes to feel the rain. I had paid a lot of money for the literature in those boxes. I wanted them safe from the torrential storm that hit moments later. There is a tremendous storm coming to earth. It is not a storm of wind and rain but of the punishment of God. The Bible tells us about God's plan to send awful judgments to earth. The Lord Jesus has paid a tremendous price so people can be in Heaven. He paid for sins by shedding His blood on the cross. He is coming back to "deliver us from the wrath to come" (1 Thessalonians 1:10). Will you feel the coming storm? Because of what the Lord Jesus paid at the cross, you can "be saved from wrath through Him" (Romans 5:9).
