Lesson: 127 Lesson Name: Joseph is Praised Theme: Christ the Lord / Sinner's Need and Helplessness Reading: Genesis 41 Memory Verse: John 6:37 Memory Verse Text: Him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. Point 1: When God's time came, He invaded Pharaoh's mind with a troubling dream and also stirred the butler's thoughts. God helped Joseph interpret Pharaoh's dream and saw to it that Pharaoh was so impressed that he would choose Joseph, a prisoner, to act as ruler of the land (Gen. 41:38-44). Joseph was 30 years old at this time after several long years in prison. Point 2: Note the "bow the knee" of Gen. 41:43 and remind the class of Joseph's dreams (Gen. 37). Also note the great and long famine over all of the nearby lands; God was setting the stage for the rest of His purposes. Point 3: Joseph acted wisely in that he took a Gentile bride and organized storehouses of grain in Egypt requiring everyone to come to him for food (Gen. 41:57). Point 4: Apply Gen. 41:55, "Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do" to the saved and unsaved in the class. Application: You need to come to the Saviour, and you can, but remember that you must "Bow the knee" to Him as well.
