Lesson Content Suggestions Point 1: The israelites had been slaves and were under condemnation, however God made provision so that they did not feel the judgement he had reserved for the wicked and unbelieving. Point 2: The Israelites were to "take a lamb" (Ex. 12:3). Even though thousands of lambs died, God only saw "The Lamb" that each of the Passover lambs represented. Notice: "a lamb" (Ex. 12:3), "the lamb" (Ex. 12:4), and "your lamb" (Ex. 12:5). Speak of how everyone could have taken a lamb for himself. Point 3: The Israelites were to kill the lamb (Ex. 12:6). There was a day appointed and a time set when the lamb (and "The Lamb") were to die. Point 4: The Israelites were to apply the blood (Ex. 12:7). Application of the blood to the door posts shows how the lamb's provision had to be personally accepted. The hyssop plant (a common weed that could have even been oregano) spoke of faith.
